✨ Your Hair Diagnosis

Dryness happens — here’s what your curls are telling you.

WHY CURLS CAN'T GET ENOUGH HYDRATION?

Dry hair happens when your strands are lacking hydration. If you’ve got curls, this is especially common — curly hair is naturally more porous, which means it doesn’t hold onto moisture as easily.

But it’s not just curl type. Other culprits can play a role too: genetics, the environment (think sun, wind, hard water, or heat styling), and even not drinking enough water.

The good news? With the right habits and a little extra care, you can bring your curls back to life. Here are our go-to tips to get your hair soft, nourished, and bouncy again.

How to Keep Hair Hydrated and Strong

Do’s:

Drink up. It may sound simple, but hydration starts from within. Aim for at least 1.5 liters of water a day to keep your body — and your curls — quenched.

Use the right brush. Choose a curl-friendly brush (think soft nylon bristles) that won’t break your curl pattern. Detangle right after washing, while your hair is still damp, to protect definition.

Nourish with oils. Go for plant-based oils (like a pre-shampoo argan oil treatment) to feed your strands in depth. Aloe vera gel is another great ally — it hydrates, helps detangle, and minimizes breakage.

Eat Protein & Minerals. Fill your plate with iron, protein, vitamins, and minerals — lentils, chicken, nuts, and spinach are curl-boosting staples.

Don’ts:

Dial down the heat. Minimize hot tools like blow dryers, straighteners, and curling irons — or keep them on a low setting. And skip bleaching if you want to keep hydration locked in.

Skip harsh formulas. Sulfates and alcohol-heavy detanglers strip your hair and dry it out. Choose gentle, curl-safe products instead.

Cut Back on Sugar & Fats. Cut back on saturated fats, refined sugar, alcohol, salt, and caffeine — all of which can take a toll on your curls’ health.
